The Body Speaks workshop for persons with visual disabilities

THE BODY SPEAKS IS A MOVEMENT WORKSHOP TAUGHT BY PAOLA TOGNAZZI AIMED AT PEOPLE WITH VISUAL DISABILITIES, WHICH EXAMINES HOW TECHNOLOGY CAN TRANSLATE THE VOCABULARY OF A BODY AND MAKE IT COMMUNICATE THROUGH SOUND. BY INTEGRATING THE INTERACTIVE SUPERNOW WEARABLE TOOL, WHICH IS MADE UP OF WRISTBANDS WITH MOTION CAPTURE SENSORS, THE PARTICIPANTS ARE ABLE TO CONTROL, THROUGH THE INTENSITY OF THEIR MOVEMENTS, THE TEMPO AND VOLUME OF AUDIO TRACKS, INTERACTING THROUGH WIRELESS SENSORS WITH A MOVING SOUND SPACE.

In the workshop, participants explore how to change the physical quality of movements, transforming the auditory landscape according to their own personal dynamics. Further on they physically explore the law of physics for directions change and speed, to see how even small directions changes have a radical impact into the materialization of movement and sound.
On the second day we will record live text and audios that go directly into the sensors to create a generative group narrative concert together.

Wearable_Dynamics since years research Art and technology languages at the limits of their perception.
